something to try in #Ubud #Bali

The island of Bali will always have a special place in our heart. Besides being one of our favourite destinations to vacation, it is also the place where we met for the first time... and fell in love. (so cliché)

Last December we spent a few days up in Ubud while I was 4 months pregnant, simply to chill and take a little break from city life, winding down the year. With the long weekend coming up, I compiled some of the places we visited on our last trip that we truly enjoyed and can recommend.

The Campuhan Ridge Walk

In between the valleys, the ridge walk is a nice trek with spectacular views. It is located quite centrally in Ubud and is best enjoyed during early morning hours or late afternoon. Avoid midday sun as there is little to no shade. I did the trek whilst I was 4 months pregnant and found it quite easy and enjoyable. Plus, take a break on the swing mid way!

Hujan Locale

Located in Ubud City centre this was one of my favorite new places that we went to. The produce is mainly sourced locally, the dishes were all full of flavor and lovingly presented and explained by the staff. I do have to come back though after baby is born as many dishes contained raw fish which I definitely plan to try.

Bridges

We stopped at Bridges restaurant for a quick meal after the ridge walk which served delicious pasta dishes. It’s a sweet little place tucked away under a bridge in the midst of green.

Bali Pulina - Luwak Coffee

At Bali Pulina they explain to you how the famous Luwak Coffee is made step by step. Whilst enjoying an array of different coffee flavors your can enjoy a marvelous view over the valley. Bali Pulina is just a short drive north of the famous Tegalalang rice fields and definitely worth a quick stop after a ricefield trek.
